When Absolut Custom Glass Systems was asked to tender for this project we knew we would be right in our element, a beautiful waterfront home with swimming pool and spa with views up the hinterland. This type of modern waterfront home requires only the best stainless steel fittings and premium soft close hinges coupled with 12mm thick toughened glass panels that allow the new occupants to enjoy their million dollar views from anywhere on the property.

These type of glass installations require a little extra intuitivism when designing the path the pool fence will take while taking into account the waterfront. Since the blanket pool safety legislation was introduced in 2016 a lot of home owners discovered their pool fence was longer compliant. This is why we consult regularly with pool safety inspectors to ensure that the glass pool fence we erect will be compliant from day one with no need for expensive add-ons down the track.

Not only was the pool fence required to comply but the extensive range of balustrade that we installed here at this prestigious property also needed to be safe. The most suitable look for this property was our polished stainless steel range of hardware and when combined with the many custom made panels added that special touch that the owners still enjoy to this day.

We do not install a lot of the premium soft close hydraulic hinges on our projects but the number of requests for them is certainly growing. The hinge, originally designed in Italy features a hydraulic system that enables the pool gate to gently close for the last 5-10cm of closing distance eliminating those noisy clangs that can sometimes occur with the spring-loaded hinges. Due to the robustness of this style of pool gate hinge we are able to hang a 12mm thick toughened glass gate which is the same thickness of the free standing fully frameless glass panels. It gives the whole glass installation another level of sophistication and style that we here at Absolut Custom Glass Systems are always proud to be a part of.
